Our Why

Our passion is for every dog to reach its full potential. Dogs that live life in a state of constant worry, feeling as if they need to guard everything and everyone, living in a hyper-vigilant state or even shutting down makes life difficult and for other family members to bond and gain trust. It is very similar to humans who suffer from PTS. Fran and Dawn have seen many instances of dogs that are struggling in their Forever Home. It doesn’t have to be that way.

Fran has a lifetime of working with and training dogs. For the past 6 years, she trained service dogs for Freedom Service Dogs of America. She has witnessed the stress that shelter & rescue dogs can go through during a lifetime of trauma from experiencing being bounced around to multiple households, frightening long distance transports, spending time in shelters or in multiple homes with fosters. Dawn Olson, a former vet technician, owner of Ken Caryl Pet Spa & Distinctive Pet Care sees every day adopted dogs with fabulous owners that are at a loss on how to help their pets feel comfortable and to reach their full potential. They have decided to team up to provide solutions to keep dogs in their forever homes!

Fran Menley has over 35 years of professional training, behavior modification, and evaluation.
